NDC is supported by a variety of people - volunteers, community members, foundations, companiesand businesses, and public agencies.

Community Investment Tax Credit Program (CITC)

Did you know that you can help communities reduce their energy costs, convert vacant lots to gardens, create healthier homes and schools, AND GET A 50% TAX CREDIT!  The Neighborhood Design Center is one of only 35 non-profits statewide that has received Maryland Community Investment Tax Credits (CITC)This means that any company or individual who makes a minimum donation of $500 will receive a 50% Maryland state tax credit (i.e. $250 for a $500 donation) in addition to the regular state and federal tax deductions for charitable giving.

Example: A $500 donation minus $250 CITC tax credit (50%) minus $83 Federal deduction (39%) minus $35 State deduction (7%) = $368 in tax credits and deductions! (depending on your taxable income – consult your tax advisor).

Donations to NDC's CITC program will be used to support "Green by Design" - providing community leaders with green educational workshops and pro-bono design services.
