Over two dozen joined us last night at speakeasy WC Harlan for the second edition of the restarted NDC AfterHours! With the special being a delicious tequila, blackberry, and sage custom concoction, the drinks were as much of a conversation topic as design.
NDC’s Board of Directors are excited to announce Jennifer Goold as new Executive Director, beginning February 13, 2012. Jennifer is an Architectural Historian and Historic Preservation professional with over 10 years experience in Maryland’s historic neighborhoods. A Baltimore resident since 1993, she has a BS in Interior Design from Indiana University and a Master’s Degree in Historic Preservation from Columbia University.
Her passion for bringing together Baltimore’s neighborhoods, design professionals, and community groups shines through her work as an historic preservation consultant on prominent Baltimore redevelopments, including Clipper Mill and Brewers Hill, as well as the numerous National Register of Historic Places nominations she worked on, such as the Patterson Park and Woodberry neighborhoods and the Locust Point Shipping Terminal (now Silo Point). Her keen eye for contemporary design is visible in her work as a Development Director at Struever Bros., Eccles & Rouse, where she led design, construction, and marketing of Overlook Clipper Mill, Maryland’s first LEED for Homes community and winner of numerous green construction and design awards. Most recently, she has strengthened her relationships in State, Local, and Federal government through her work at the State Highway Administration where she managed compliance with historic preservation requirements.
Jennifer is thrilled for the opportunity to lead the NDC in its mission to strengthen community participation in neighborhood improvement efforts, to educate the public about the value of good design, planning, and preservation as community revitalization tools, and to serve as a catalyst for increased investment in neighborhood development. She can be reached at email@example.com or 410-233-9686 x102.
