Seat Pleasant Tot Lot

                                                             park layout

In 2002, NDC volunteers Dan Dodd of The Faux Group and Mike Peterson of Rodgers Consulting produced concept plans for a new Tot Lot in Goodwin Park, Seat Pleasant. This was one phase of planned renovations for this large community park. New trees and ornamentals had been installed at the front edge of the park and improvements were planned to play surfaces.

The Tot Lot was installed during the summer of 2002, using funds obtained by the non-profit global agency Global Development Services for Youth, a mentoring program for young people in the area. The dedication ceremony was a very festive affair. For young people in the area, and their eldger siblings, the park was needed. It was also heavily used by a childcare center housed in the nearby John E. Feggin Center.

In subsequent years, NDC interns and volunteers have drawn up landscaping plans for plantings that have been installed in the park and at the Feggin Center on Gorgeous Prince George's Day.
